The Roden 713 FWD Model B 3-ton & BL 8-inch howitzer Mk. VI kit in 1/72 scale is a high-quality plastic model set, perfectly reflecting the historical vehicles used by the Allies during World War I. This set allows you to build both the FWD Model B 3-ton truck and the legendary British BL 8-inch howitzer Mk. VI, which together formed an indispensable duo on the battlefields of the Great War.

  • Scale: 1/72
  • Operators: United Kingdom, United States, Canada, and other Entente countries
  • Material: high-quality polystyrene plastic
  • Category: plastic model kit

The FWD Model B was an American 4x4 transport truck, widely used on the Western Front from 1917. It was primarily used for transporting ammunition, supplies, and towing heavy weaponry, with a prime example being its use with the British BL 8-inch howitzer Mk. VI. This howitzer was one of the main British heavy guns, effective especially in countering fortifications and conducting intensive shelling of German positions.

Assembling the kit allows you to recreate authentic Western Front scenes. The plastic parts are precisely designed with numerous details, enabling faithful reproduction of the chassis structure, cab details, and the howitzer barrel – although the set does not include metal parts, its quality and level of detail will meet the expectations of advanced modelers.

The model does not include glue or paints, giving you the flexibility to choose historically accurate colors for Allied military vehicles. The Roden 713 kit will serve as a valuable addition to any World War I collection and provides an excellent basis for building dioramas.

This model is especially recommended for 20th-century military enthusiasts, fans of WWI technology, and intermediate as well as advanced modelers. Build difficulty: 3/5 – the set requires a certain degree of precision and experience, especially when assembling chassis and weapon components.

Choose Roden 713 to faithfully capture the realities of the Western Front and enrich your historic vehicle model collection with a set that is unique both historically and from a modeling perspective!

Scale

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
