Historical and Technical Information

The T-54 is one of the most important tanks in history, forming the backbone of the Soviet armoured forces from the late 1940s. OMSH track links were the early version of standard steel tracks, characterized by their high durability in demanding frontline conditions. These tanks were used not only by the USSR but were also exported to Eastern Bloc countries, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The T-54 saw widespread service in conflicts such as the Vietnam War, the Arab-Israeli wars, and many local confrontations during the Cold War—from 1947 through to the later decades of the 20th century.
