Historical description

The GBU-11 Paveway bomb is an American precision-guided glide bomb with laser guidance, developed during the Cold War as the first generation of this type of weapon by Texas Instruments for the United States Air Force. The bomb was based on the classic heavy Mk 84 bomb, equipped with the Paveway I LGB kit. The GBU-11 was widely used in the early 1970s during the Vietnam War, particularly in operations requiring precise attacks on highly protected targets such as bridges and anti-aircraft installations. In the following decades, the bomb became a symbol of the development of precision-guided munitions.

Model features and kit contents

  • The set contains 16 precisely cast resin parts for detailed reproduction of the GBU-11’s shape and features.
  • Included high-quality decals allow for realistic application of operational and identification markings.
  • The model does not require complicated photo-etched parts or masks – it is a versatile solution for both advanced and ambitious intermediate modelers.
  • An ideal addition to model kits of Vietnam War-era combat aircraft: F-4 Phantom II, F-111, or A-6 Intruder.

Who is it recommended for?

Eduard 632112 GBU-11 is recommended for advanced and intermediate modelers who wish to expand their collections with a highly realistic and rarely found aircraft armament from the mid-20th century. It is also an excellent material for creating striking historical dioramas and aviation layouts.

Scale
1/32

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
