The aircraft was powered by a Renault 12R-03 engine and armed with four 7.5 mm MAC 1934 machine guns. Serial production began in mid-1939. The CR.714 became famous mainly as a combat aircraft used by \u003cstrong\u003eGC 1\/145 – a French unit composed of Polish pilots defending France in 1940\u003c\/strong\u003e. Despite its limited performance and weak armor, the courage and determination of the pilots enabled the unit to score eight confirmed aerial victories against the Luftwaffe.
