Historical description:
The Dornier Do 17 K was the Yugoslav version of the well-known German bomber, built under license at the DFA factory in 1938 following the aircraft’s presentation at the Zurich air show in 1937. The machine was fitted with more powerful Gnome-Rhône 14N engines, a 20 mm Hispano cannon, and three 7.92 mm Browning machine guns. The three main variants consisted of the Do 17Kb-1 (bomber version), Do 17Ka-2 (reconnaissance version), and Do 17Ka-3. These aircraft were primarily used by Yugoslavia (Kraljevina Jugoslavija), as well as, after capture, by Bulgaria and Hungary. The main periods of operation were 1938–1945, covering the pre-World War II era, the Balkan campaign, and World War II.
