The Eduard 672217 Shafrir 2 1/72 set is a unique collection of Israeli Shafrir 2 air-to-air missiles, made from the highest quality resin and designed for 1/72 scale aircraft models. Eduard's Brassin series guarantees modelers maximum realism and detail, far surpassing standard plastic modeling components.

  • Scale: 1/72
  • User country: Israel
  • Material: High-detail resin; photo-etched parts included.
  • Category: Brassin resin accessory set for aircraft models
  • Contents: Two complete Shafrir 2 missiles, photo-etched parts, decal sheet.
  • Difficulty level: 2/5 – basic experience with resin and photo-etched parts required.

Shafrir 2 was an air-to-air missile developed by the Israeli defense industry in the 1960s. Introduced into service at the end of the 1960s, it was widely used by the Israeli Air Force, particularly during the Yom Kippur War (1973). In this conflict, Shafrir 2 achieved many spectacular combat successes, earning a reputation as an effective weapon against enemy fighters. These missiles were mounted on Israeli Mirage III, Nesher, and Kfir aircraft, as well as on exported versions of these planes.

The presented set includes two complete missiles, replicated with attention to every detail while maintaining the correct proportions according to real missile documentation. The presence of photo-etched details allows for master-level finishing, and the included decals enable faithful reproduction of operational markings.

Eduard 672217 Shafrir 2 1/72 is recommended for all modelers who want to enhance the realism of their Israeli military aviation miniatures—especially aircraft used during the Cold War and Middle Eastern conflicts. Thanks to its low difficulty and clear instructions, the set is perfect both as an introduction to resin parts and as a high-class detail upgrade for advanced hobbyists.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
