Historical information – Heinkel He 111Z

The set was created for the German transport aircraft Heinkel He 111Z “Zwilling.” This was an unusual design, resulting from joining two standard He 111 H bombers with an additional engine in the central wing section. This aircraft was used during World War II by the Luftwaffe, mainly for towing large Messerschmitt Me 321 Gigant transport gliders during operations on the Eastern Front (including the Caucasus 1942-1943). Only a dozen or so examples of this design were produced, and their main task was transporting heavy loads and providing large-scale logistical support.
