Vehicle History

The Fiat 508CM "Coloniale" is a military version of the Fiat 508 Balilla passenger car, widely used from the mid-1930s, mainly during World War II. These vehicles served in the Italian army and, after Italy's capitulation, also in the Wehrmacht. The 508CM was primarily used in North Africa, the Balkans, and Europe as a light staff car, command and officer vehicle, and for field communications. It was characterized by its small size, light weight, and good off-road capability, allowing for fast transportation in harsh desert and mountain conditions. The service period of this vehicle mainly covers the years 1936–1945.
