Fujimi 433332 TOKU-48 Imperial Japanese Navy Aircraft Carrier Kaga 1/700

The Fujimi 433332 TOKU-48 model represents one of the most important Japanese aircraft carriers of World War II – the Kaga, in 1/700 scale. This is a precisely replicated plastic model kit, allowing for a faithful recreation of the legendary vessel of the Imperial Japanese Navy. This model has been produced by the renowned company Fujimi, known for its high level of detail and excellent part fit.

Kaga was one of four carriers forming the Japanese Kido Butai, which played a key role in the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941. The ship entered service in 1931 as a result of modernization following the Washington Naval Treaty. She actively participated in combat operations during World War II, including battles in the Pacific, up until the Battle of Midway in June 1942, where she was sunk.

The Fujimi Kaga model is characterized by a very high level of detail, including accurately reproduced flight deck elements, superstructure, armaments, and hangar equipment. The kit also includes aircraft details, representing the planes currently operated on this ship. The components are made of high-quality plastic, which allows for easy gluing and painting. The kit does not include glue or paints – these must be purchased separately according to your preferences.

The set does not include photo-etched parts or metal extras, but thanks to its level of detail, it will satisfy both advanced modelers and intermediate enthusiasts who already have some experience assembling ship models in this scale.

  • Scale: 1/700
  • Original user's country: Japan
  • Material: plastic, without photo-etched, resin, or metal extras
  • Era of use: World War II
  • Category: plastic ship model kit
  • This model does not include glue or paints – must be purchased separately

We recommend this model to all naval history enthusiasts and modelers passionate about recreating WWII ships. It works great as a standalone collectible or as part of a larger maritime diorama. Difficulty level: 3/5 – recommended for intermediate modelers.

Scale
1/700

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
