Aber 35L-331 Lufa 128mm KwK 44 L/55 do Typ 204 Mäuschen / Barrel 128mm KwK 44 L/55 for Typ 204 Mauschen (Takom) 1/35 – metal barrel for tank model

The 128mm KwK 44 L/55 metal barrel (code 35L-331) by Aber is a high-quality replacement part developed specifically for the Takom Typ 204 Mäuschen model in 1/35 scale. This product is dedicated to achieving a realistic reproduction of the famous super-heavy tank gun from World War II – the German Typ 204 Maus (Mäuschen) project, also known as the legendary Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus.

  • Scale: 1/35
  • Category: Metal model accessories
  • Material: Precisely turned aluminum
  • Intended use: Replacement barrel for Takom Typ 204 Mäuschen plastic kits
  • Historical period: World War II
  • Country of use: Germany (Third Reich)

The Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus is the most famous German super-heavy tank from the end of World War II, developed by Porsche. Although only a few prototypes were built, the Maus became legendary as the armored vehicle with the thickest armor and most powerful armament – its main weapon was the 128 mm KwK 44 L/55 gun. The Maus never saw combat, but several test models demonstrated the great ambitions and advanced technological capabilities of late-war German engineering.

The Aber 35L-331 product is a precisely made metal barrel that faithfully reproduces the original shape and proportions of the 128mm gun. Made of aluminum, it offers significantly greater durability, perfectly smooth surfaces, and meticulous detailing compared to the standard plastic part. The barrel is designed for Takom kits (Typ 204 Mäuschen set), but with some modelling skills, it can also be adapted to other 1:35 scale model kits.

This product is recommended for advanced modellers who expect the highest level of realism in historic detail reproduction. The metal barrel enhances both the visual appearance and collector's value of the finished model, and its installation is intuitive – we rate the assembly difficulty as 2/5. It is recommended both for those upgrading stock models and for anyone planning high-end historical dioramas.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
