Short historical description:

The Supermarine Seafire F. XVII was a British fighter aircraft used mainly by the Royal Navy (United Kingdom). The development and use of this model dates to the post–World War II period (the 1940s, the early Cold War years). The F. XVII variant featured a reinforced fuselage and carrier operating capabilities. For example, they were employed during numerous naval exercises and while patrolling British colonies during times of post-colonial tension.
